Studies on physiological, haematological and biochemical changes during supra-cutaneous plating for repair of traumatic tibial fractures in sheep and goats

In six clinical cases of small ruminant, a supra-cutaneous plating technique was used to treat tibial fractures. The variations in the physiological, haematological and biochemical parameters were recorded pre -operatively post-operatively on regular intervals. Based statistical evaluations data, physiological within normal range, indicating less surgical stress minimal blood loss during surgery. Whereas, studies revealed non-significant decline serum calcium from 7th 45th post-operative day an increase alkaline phosphatase up 15th day, followed by drop between 30th 60th day. Serum phosphorus, other hand, showed no significant all ruminants.
